Compassionate Vets with a Passion for Animals

Dr. Ashley Austin hails from the Gulfcoast of Alabama where she grew up surrounded by live oaks and a menagerie of animals- both wild and domesticated. Her deep love of animals started early as she rescued, rehabilitated, and loved hamsters, dogs, cats, and a very sweet opossum named Stumpy. Dr. Austin finished her undergraduate degree at Auburn University in 2004, from there she traveled the world living and working in Thailand and Australia. Her love of animals stayed true and in 2012 she graduated from The Ohio State University with her Doctor of Veterinary Medicine. Dr. Austin relocated to Seattle following graduation and after 4 years working under Dr. Jeffrey Miller she is excited to venture on her own!

Dr. Beth Kissack grew up in New York City and later Berkeley, California. She attended UCLA, receiving her Bachelor of Science, after which she attended UC Davis Veterinary School, receiving her Doctor of Veterinary Medicine degree in 2009. Dr. Kissack then spent two years practicing at a small animal clinic in the town of Davis, California before driving cross-country to settle on the New York-Vermont state border, where she practiced for seven years at a small animal hospital in New York. In August 2018, weary of the long, cold winters and looking for a new adventure, Dr. Kissack drove cross-country once again, this time settling in Enumclaw, Washington. She and her husband, also a veterinarian, own a local large animal veterinary practice.

While she has enjoyed general practice, Dr. Kissack welcomes the opportunity to focus on surgery and dentistry at Maple Valley Surgical and Dental Clinic. Surgery has always been a special interest of hers, leading her to choose 4 additional elective weeks of surgery in her final clinical year of veterinary school. During and after veterinary school, Dr. Kissack also volunteered spaying and neutering cats at the Sacramento SPCA, Solano County Animal Shelter & East Bay SPCA in her free time.

When not working, Dr. Kissack enjoys reading, gardening, photography and exploring Washington State’s natural beauty with her husband and son.

When not at the clinic, Kelly enjoys camping, hiking, riding quads, gardening, and hanging out with her family. She has a Lab mix named Zeus, Golden Retriever named Jessie, and numerous chickens and ducks.
